Pupil Premium
General statement:
At Wootton St Andrew's Church Of England Primary School we support all of our pupils. We do this by providing high quality classroom teaching, supplemented by interventions to support vulnerable learners as and when required. The School leadership Team and Governing Body monitor the impact of all spending and interventions, including Pupil Premium. We endeavour to encourage parents and carers to apply for free school meals where pride, stigma or changing circumstances act as barriers to its take up.
Key Facts
The Pupil premium is allocated to children from families who are currently known to be eligible for FSM in both mainstream and non-mainstream settings and to children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months.
The Government has decided that eligibility for the Pupil Premium is for anybody who has been eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years. The reason for this is that, as a group, children who have been eligible for FSM at any point in time have consistently lower educational attainment than those who have never been eligible for FSM.
We also have money allocated to children who have been adopted from care.
Our current Pupil Premium Strategy includes how much money we are allocated, how we have spent the money so far and then the impact of this spending. It also includes all future plans for spending the money this academic year and into 2024 - it is now a three year strategy looking at challenges we face as a school.
