Being a Church School
Being a Church of England School means that the church and the Christian faith have a high profile within our activities every day. Understanding Christian values help us to make the most of the time we spend together as a Church school family.
In 2016 we updated the school logo and the children chose 3 values which have become The Wootton Way – Love, Joy and Trust.
The Wootton Way is Love, Joy and Trust!
For us LOVE means we are there for each other; we find time to listen to our friends and understand each other’s problems. We celebrate each other’s achievements without envy and show compassion when there is sadness.
“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not boast, and it is not proud. Love is not selfish, and does not become angry easily.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-5
For us JOY means we must remember the beauty in our own lives and in the natural world. We try to remember that through forgiveness we experience joy and we can share joy with others.
“If you obey my commandments, you will remain in my love. I have told you these things so that you can have the same joy I have. I want your joy to be the fullest joy.” John 15:10 -11
We believe TRUST is necessary for all people especially within our Church School family. We learn, laugh, play and are sometimes sad together. We trust each other just as God trusts us and takes care of us.
“Trust the Lord with all your heart. Don’t depend on your own understanding. Remember the Lord in everything you do and he will give you success.” Proverbs 3:5-6
The star was chosen as an important part of the logo as all who attend Wootton St Andrew’s are unique wonderful people and we celebrate shining lights every day.
“In the same way, you should be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do. Live so that they will praise your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
We have an excellent link with St Andrew’s Church and are fortunate to have this wonderful building so close. We hold all festivals and celebrations in church with the support of the church wardens.
We are supported by members of other local churches who come in to lead worship or volunteer in classroom activities. Our friends come from the Barton Methodist, Anglican and Evangelical churches.
